What is an economic growth region?
The term Economic Growth Region (EGR) emerged as part of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development's 2005 Strategic Skills Initiative. It defines regions by their economic and workforce development efforts and anticipated workforce shortages as well as by their economic and social ties. The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University reviewed commuting patterns, demographics, and other quantifiable factors in order to group regions.
